What happens after you get in touch
We keep the process simple. Here is what to expect once you send us a message or give us a call.
2. Free 30-minute call
We schedule a call (or video meeting) to understand your business, your goals and the problem you want to solve. There is no charge and no obligation.
3. Written proposal
If we think we can help, we send a one-page proposal within five working days. It covers scope, timeline, deliverables and a fixed fee. No surprises, no hourly billing.
If after the call we decide the project is not a good fit for us, we will say so honestly and, where possible, recommend someone who is better placed to help. We would rather turn down work than do a poor job.
Common questions
How much does a typical engagement cost?
It depends on the scope. A focused process improvement project for a single department usually runs between £4,000 and £8,000. A full growth strategy engagement with financial modelling is typically £10,000 to £18,000. We always quote a fixed fee before work starts, so you know exactly what you are paying.
Do you work with businesses outside Scotland?
Yes. About a third of our clients are based elsewhere in the UK. We handle most of the work remotely via video calls and shared documents, with in-person visits as needed. Travel costs within mainland Britain are included in our fixed fee.
How long does a project take?
Our shortest engagements are four weeks (typically a cash-flow forecasting setup). Growth strategy projects run eight to twelve weeks. We agree the timeline upfront and flag any risk of overrun as early as possible.
Can we hire you on a retained basis?
We offer a quarterly retainer for clients who want ongoing access to a senior consultant for ad-hoc advice, board meeting preparation and periodic reviews. The retainer includes a set number of hours per month and a quarterly review session.
What industries do you specialise in?
Manufacturing, food production, hospitality, professional services and logistics make up the bulk of our work. We have also completed projects in construction, renewable energy and healthcare. If your sector is outside our experience, we will tell you during the initial call.
